New Westminster College Programs
Our focus is on providing effective training in high growth employment areas in a friendly, professional environment. We train practical nurses, health care assistants, early childhood educators, community support workers, business managers, administrative assistants, and payroll administrators. Seasoned instructors, experts in their fields, go the extra mile to create an optimal, comfortable, learning environment. Twice winner of the provincial student satisfaction award and recipient of the 2009 Chamber of Commerce New Westminster Business Excellence Award, our campus strives to ensure student success, first in their studies, and later in their employment. Sprott Shaw’s commitment to student employment is exemplified by the creation of our innovative job placement assistance program, which is available to students 24/7.

How do we know we are reaching our goals?
Apart from the awards we have won, the New Westminster campus has one of the highest student referral and one of the lowest attrition rates in British Columbia. Also, check out what our students are saying. One of our business graduates went on to become a manager at Cara Operations Limited at YVR. He wrote to tell us that he was “continually excited with the challenges and knowledge presented by the entire curriculum at Sprott Shaw. From the admissions office to the instructors to the Administration you see up-beat, vivacious, inspirational personalities.” A recent graduate of our Early Childhood Education program has become an author. She has written two children’s books – both available at Amazon.com – and is working on a third. In the inscription on the cover to “Maulie’s Pocket” and presented to the college, she said “Thanks so much to the instructors at the Sprott Shaw College in being such great and inspiring people. This book belongs with you and I hope it will help you to inspire others.” We have several video interviews with some of our instructors including; Amber Burchart (Early Childhood Education), Judith Lee (Health Care Assistant) and Emily Marmol (Practical Nursing). All of us here in the New Westminster campus share a simple philosophy: To teach a student is to touch a life forever.
